Your Immigration Case Deserves Expert Support
Immigration Psychological Evaluation That Supports Your Case
Your immigration case depends on evidence that clearly explains the psychological impact of what you have lived through. Whether you are facing extreme hardship, seeking asylum from persecution, recovering from domestic violence, or healing after trafficking or other crimes, you need an evaluation that is both clinically sound and legally useful.
As a bilingual clinician and immigrant myself, I understand how overwhelming this process can feel—especially when language, culture, and trauma are all involved. I provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive immigration psychological evaluations and collaborate closely with attorneys so your report meets both legal standards and clinical best practices.
Clinical Methodology & Professional Standards
Evaluations are conducted using clinical interviews, standardized psychological measures, collateral documentation review, and professional judgment consistent with ethical and licensing standards.
My reports follow formats commonly used in immigration proceedings and integrate clinical findings with legally relevant psychological analysis.
Evaluations provide clinical findings and do not offer legal opinions or guarantees regarding immigration outcomes.
With bilingual services in Mandarin and English, I help bridge language and cultural gaps that are often present in immigration cases. My training in trauma assessment and my lived experience as an immigrant allow me to understand both the psychological impact of your experiences and the cultural context that shapes them.
I collaborate with immigration attorneys to ensure each evaluation addresses the relevant psychological factors for hardship, asylum, VAWA, U Visa, or T Visa cases while documenting your mental health with care, accuracy, and clinical integrity.
When Is an Immigration Psychological Evaluation Helpful?
Immigration psychological evaluations help document the emotional and psychological impact of abuse, persecution, trauma, or family separation. These evaluations provide clinical evidence that may support legal arguments presented by immigration attorneys in immigration proceedings.
They are commonly used in cases involving:
• VAWA self-petitions
• Extreme Hardship Waivers (I-601 or I-601A)
• Asylum applications
• U Visa petitions for victims of qualifying crimes
• T Visa petitions for survivors of human trafficking
Psychological evaluations may help support immigration petitions in cases involving VAWA, extreme hardship waivers, asylum, U Visa, and T Visa applications by documenting trauma-related symptoms, emotional hardship, and the psychological consequences of abuse or persecution.
Immigration Psychological Evaluation Offerings
Hardship Waiver Evaluations (I-601 & I-601A)
For qualifying relatives of U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents who may experience extreme hardship if family separation or relocation occurs.
I evaluate the emotional and psychological impact of family separation or relocation, including mental health symptoms, family relationships, and relevant cultural and contextual factors. The evaluation links these clinical findings to the extreme hardship criteria considered by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Findings are documented in a comprehensive immigration psychological evaluation report prepared for immigration proceedings.
Asylum Evaluations
For individuals seeking protection after experiencing persecution, torture, or other serious human rights violations in their home country.
I explore the traumatic experiences that led you to flee your country and assess the emotional and psychological impact of these events. The evaluation documents trauma-related symptoms and the ongoing psychological impact of persecution or violence, providing clinical documentation that may support your asylum application.
If your case involves a delayed filing after the one-year deadline, the evaluation can also document psychological conditions such as PTSD or depression that may have contributed to the delay.
Findings are documented in a comprehensive immigration psychological evaluation report prepared for immigration proceedings.
VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) Evaluations
For individuals who experienced domestic violence or abuse by a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident spouse or parent.
I assess the emotional and psychological impact of domestic violence or abuse, including trauma symptoms, anxiety, depression, and safety-related concerns. The evaluation provides clinical documentation of the psychological consequences of abuse and is tailored to meet the clinical documentation needs of VAWA self-petition cases.
Findings are documented in a comprehensive immigration psychological evaluation report prepared for immigration proceedings.
U Visa Evaluations
For victims of qualifying criminal activity such as domestic violence, sexual assault, felonious assault, stalking, or other serious crimes.
I document the psychological consequences of the crime, including trauma symptoms, anxiety, depression, and other emotional effects. The evaluation helps demonstrate the severity of the harm experienced and the ongoing impact on daily functioning.
Findings are documented in a comprehensive immigration psychological evaluation report prepared for immigration proceedings.
T Visa Evaluations
For survivors of human trafficking.
I assess the psychological and emotional consequences of trafficking, including trauma symptoms, fear, and long-term effects on functioning. The evaluation documents the lasting psychological impact of exploitation and provides clinical documentation that may support your T visa case.

What to Expect During Your Immigration Evaluation
A clear four-step process
Initial Paperwork
After scheduling, you complete consent forms, any applicable releases, and a brief questionnaire. With your written permission, I may coordinate with your attorney to note deadlines or specific areas of focus. The evaluation is based on independent clinical interviews, record review, and professional judgment (not legal advice).
Clinical Interviews
You attend two 90-minute clinical interview sessions, typically about one week apart, in person or via secure telehealth (when permitted). Interviews focus on history, symptoms, and case-relevant experiences. Standardized psychological assessment tools are incorporated as part of the evaluation.
Report Drafting and Review
I prepare a detailed psychological evaluation report integrating interview findings, assessment results, and clinical formulation. Drafts may be reviewed for factual accuracy only.
Final Report Delivery
The finalized report is delivered securely to you and, if authorized, your attorney. Typical turnaround time is about four weeks after the final interview. Expedited options may be available for urgent deadlines with an additional fee.
